About the client
Since its founding in 1934, Remondis has grown into one of the world's largest service providers in the field of recycling, waste collection and wastewater treatment. Originally the German company was active in the Netherlands under the name Remondis Nederland. It operates a complex, diverse fleet, consisting of 450 vehicles of different types and manufacturers:
Various chassis brands: DAF, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, MAN.
Various bodywork brands: Geesink, Haller, VDL.
Various Specials brands: HMF, Palfinger.
Hence, the client was looking for an experienced partner to eliminate financial risks whilst ensuring consistent fleet availability.
What Orion did
Remondis and Orion have been in a partnership since 2016, where Orion provides both corrective and preventative maintenance. As a partner, we also advice on lifespan extension of the fleet, and on sustainability measures to take.
Orion functions as a single-point-of-contact (SPOC) for the client, providing clear accountability and lightening the administrative load of the client.
As Orion, we not only provide skilled mechanics, but also ensure adequate training.
We provided local management and oversee the change management process.
We ensure safety and compliance with rules and regulations.
To create a seamless cooperation with our client, we are integrated in their operations: “Shop in shop solution”.
We drive continuous improvement, assisted by our proprietary OrionGrip software which provides us with data insights and reporting.
Furthermore, we set up and organized the local warehouse.
We invested in tools and technical reserve, provided the systems for technical documentation, parts, warranty.
We also set up and continue to manage the entire ICT infrastructure.
