With over 250 electric buses, IJssel-Vecht is the largest zero emission (ZE) fleet in Europe. In a 15-year contract Orion executes all the maintenance contracts on behalf of BYD.

What Orion did

• The project was set up from inception. New charging, workshop and office facilities were set up for this concession. To optimize availability of the fleet, charging infrastructure is based on overnight and opportunity charging.

• As Orion, we not only provide skilled mechanics, but we also ensure adequate training in zero emission maintenance.

• We provide local management and will oversee the change management process. Typically, Orion scales up local management at the start of a concession to ensure a smooth implementation.

• We ensure safety and compliance with rules and regulations.

• To create a seamless cooperation with our client, we are integrated in operations: “Shop in shop solution”.

• We drive continuous improvement, assisted by our proprietary OrionGrip software which provides us and the client with data insights and reporting.

• To optimize availability and limit unnecessary downtime, we perform our maintenance both in the workshops and ‘on premise’ with Orion’s mobile solution.

• Furthermore, we set up and organize the local warehouse.
