About the client

Qbuzz is part of BusItalia, the subsidiary of the Italian national railway company Ferrovie dello Stato. Qbuzz operates approximately 750 buses in the Netherlands. The total fleet for the concession consists of more than 300 diesel and electric buses, supplied by Ebusco, EvoBus and Heuliez.

What Orion did

  • New loading, workshop and office facilities have been set up for this concession.

  • To optimize the availability of the fleet, the charging infrastructure is based on night and occasional charging.

  • Orion operates a so-called 'shop-in-shop solution', seamlessly integrated with the Qbuzz activities near the city of Utrecht.

  • We strive for continuous improvement, supported by our own OrionGrip software that provides us with data insights and reporting.

  • To optimize availability and limit unnecessary downtime, we carry out our maintenance both in the workshops and locally, or 'on premise' with Orion's mobile solution.

Results Orion achieved

Since taking over the maintenance activities, Orion has achieved the following:

  • 16% savings on purchasing costs, which represents a value of approximately EUR 300,000.
