About the client
Schiphol Airport is one of Europe's largest, and one of the world's busiest airports in terms of passenger volume. It is business critical for Schiphol to always have its fleet in a well-maintained state of operations. Any failure to do so has an immediate impact: If two of the crash tenders (fire extinguisher vehicles) are non-operational, one out of the five airstrips must be closed.
What Orion did
Schiphol requires an expert to maintain their fleet of highly specialized vehicles for a wide array of functionalities, ranging from fire trucks to snow ploughs and from bird-watching cars to sweepers.
Schiphol engaged Orion as their service partner for an 8-year contract, maintaining over 450 vehicles for Schiphol and 250 vehicles for KLM and Arriva.
Our activities include the maintenance of Cat S fleets and supply, conversion, and maintenance of Cat B fleets.
Next to maintaining the entire fleet, Orion provides fleet management services and supports in procuring new fleets.
Results Orion achieved
A 5-year increase in vehicle lifecycle, from 10 to 15 years.
Overall maintenance cost savings of 9%.
Core process disruptions were reduced to zero.
We received an 8.0/10 for customer satisfaction.
